Julia Isídrez, one of South America's most renowned sculptors, is emerging on the international stage as a unique figure due to her ability to reinterpret an ancient sculptural tradition passed down through generations, starting with her mother, the celebrated ceramist Juana Marta Rodas (1925-2013).
Drawing from a rich Guarani indigenous heritage, in which mothers have taught ceramic techniques to their daughters for centuries, Isídrez explores and reinterprets this ancestral knowledge, establishing new forms of artistic expression in the realm of contemporary sculpture.
To specially mark the conclusion of the third and final edition of Pinta Sud | ASU, on its last day of programming, Julia Isidrez is offering a ceramics workshop at the Juana Marta Rodas Ceramics School in Itá, providing an exciting experience for its visitors.
This initiative is presented by Fundación Itaú, Associate Partner of Pinta Sud | ASU.
