Pinta Sud | ASU organizes the third and final edition of Art Week in Asunción, Paraguay, from August 5 to 11, 2024, with contemporary art and cultural activations throughout the city in collaboration with public and private agents. This program invites you to discover the uniqueness of Asuncion´s art scene and to delve into its invigorating cultural offerings.

 

Since 2022, the Pinta Sud initiative brings cultural programs in cities across Latin America to celebrate their growing artistic scenes. Its mission is to strengthen cultural networks between the international art world and the local scene, resulting in economic and educational opportunities for Latin American art.

This edition of Pinta Sud | ASU brings together curators and key figures from the local and international art circuit. The curators responsible for various exhibition proposals are Ticio Escobar, Lia Colombino, Fredi Casco, Gustavo Riego, Bianca Bernardo, Damián Cabrera, Bettina Brizuela, Javier Medina Verdolini, Thiago Sant'Ana, Fernando Moure and Félix Toranzos.

Additionally, Majo Fiorio and Luis Ocampos Pompa will be part of the Young Curators Program. FORO, the conversation program, will feature the following international guests: Isabella Lenzi, Inés Katzenstein, Raphael Fonseca, Bianca Bernardo, Cuauhtemoc Medina, María Amalia García, Vivian Crockett, Isabella Rjeille, and Luciana Pereira.

This program is curated by Adriana Almada, with the support of Irene Gelfman, global curator of Pinta, Irene Gelfman.

The colloquium at Pinta Sud ASU 2024 aims to present a sort of "state of the art" of curatorial practice in Latin America (or linked to the region) through conversations with relevant curators from the international art scene. They will discuss various aspects of their work, both within institutions and specific projects.
