Pinta Sud ASU will carry out in the City of Asunción, Paraguay, the second edition of a special program that seeks to promote and give visibility to Paraguayan contemporary art.
For a week, from August 7 to 13, different exhibitions, activations, meetings and conversations will be held with artists, gallery owners, curators, collectors, architects, creative industry agents and special guests from the local and international scene.
As part of the programming and of Media Point we will carry out a cycle of talks and interviews with important references of contemporary art in Paraguay and international guests.
In this way, this second edition of Pinta Sud ASU proposes to continue building bridges to generate environments of cooperation and exchange between various public and private sectors of the Paraguayan cultural scene. This is an initiative created by Pinta Art to energize and internationalize new markets and the growing contemporary art scene.
Galleries
Gallery. A tour around areas of the local art circuit, with outstanding proposals from galleries in the local scene and international guest galleries, institutions and museums.
A new exploration window that brings together art lovers, galleries, collectors, artists and institutions and where special activities will be scheduled in galleries and cultural centers, music, performance, Studio visit and film cycles.
Institutions
The institutions, museums and cultural centers accompany this impulse to revitalize the art and culture of Paraguay and will be open to the public throughout the week with a special program of activities.
Media Point
As part of Media Point we will carry out a cycle of talks, Open File videos and interviews with references of contemporary art from Paraguay and international guests such as collectors, gallery owners, curators and artists linked to the field of Latin American art, as well as personalities from architecture, the creative and music industries, who will reflect on different topics of interest that concern the current art scene.
Yaguá Rincón
An exhibition of contemporary art by Yaguá Rincón will be presented at Casa Pinta (Casa Castelví, Manzana de la Rivera), in conjunction with the Institute of Culture of Corrientes (Argentina), among others.
Studio Visit
Júlia Isidrez
As part of the Pinta Sud | ASU program we will visit the workshop of the renowned ceramic artist from the city of Itá, Julia Isídrez, who with her hands molds and shapes clay, turning it into beautiful works of art that have already been exhibited in various galleries in the country and in different parts of the world.
Oquedad
Installations by Marcos Benítez
For this new edition of Pinta Sud | ASU, an exhibition will be held at the Textilia complex (Gral. Santos and Concordia), a former factory that will be transformed into an exhibition space to house a series of objects and installations related to three Paraguayan ceramic villages with which the artist works.

We present the curatorial team of Pinta Sud: Adriana Almada (Main Curator and Pinta Sud Advisor), Irene Gelfman (General Curator Pinta Art), and guest curators Pablo León de la Barra, Andrei Fernández and Aimé Iglesias Lukin.

Pinta + MAPA Kids offer a true moment of party, celebration and cultural exchange that invites the families of the different artistic cultural agents.
Pinta Concept
Pinta Art is an art platform with a fifteen-year trajectory on bringing Latin American art to the world, with the objective of positioning, expanding and difunding Latin American artists through its three fairs (Pinta Miami, Pinta PArC and Pinta BAPhoto) and other actions of visibility of diverse contemporary art scenes (such as Pinta Sud | ASU and Pinta Basel).
Colección Mendonca: A Quest for Cultural Identity
The Mendonca Collection, part of the second edition of Pinta Sud | ASU, houses key works of contemporary Paraguayan art -although it also includes works by artists of other nationalities- and counts with the collaboration and curatorship of expert art critics such as Adriana Almada, Felix Toranzos, Osvaldo Salerno and Ticio Escobar.
