Cuauhtémoc Medina (Ciudad de México, 5 de diciembre de 1965.)

Cuauhtémoc Medina (Mexico City, December 5, 1965) is a critic, curator, and art historian. He holds a PhD in Art History and Theory from the University of Essex and a Bachelor's degree in History from the Universidad Autónoma de México. Since 1993, he has been a full-time researcher at the Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas of UNAM, and from 2002 to 2008, he was the first Associate Curator of Latin American Art at Tate Modern's collections. Since 2013, he has served as Chief Curator at the Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo (MUAC) of UNAM, where he has curated exhibitions featuring artists such as Andrea Fraser, Carlos Amorales, Harun Farocki, Jill Magid, Jeremy Deller, Vicente Rojo, Jan Hendrix, Ai Weiwei, and the Raqs Media Collective, among others.

In 2012, he curated Manifesta 9: The Deep of the Modern in Genk, Belgium, and was awarded the Walter Hopps Award for Curatorial Achievement by the Menil Foundation. In 2018, he curated the 12th Shanghai Biennale titled "Proregress" at the Power Station of Art. Among his books are "Abuso Mutuo. Ensayos e Intervenciones sobre arte postmexicano (1992-2013)" (Cubo Blanco and RM, 2017) and "Una ciudad ideal: la Olinka del Dr. Atl" (Colegio Nacional, 2019).
