The Central Railway Station

The station, inaugurated in 1861, houses a museum and preserves the first locomotive to arrive in Paraguay, built in England just 29 years after the steam train was inaugurated in the early 19th century. The original name of the central station was "San Francisco Station". In the different rooms of the central station, visitors can appreciate the old telegraphs, telephones, administrative documents, original plans, personnel records, and the safes where the revenue was kept. One room recreates the original train cars, with first and second-class seats, as well as the original furniture of the presidential car.
